This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?

Hey Sparkles! Happy Friday! For today’s Family Friday blog post I am writing about my family’s field trip to Callaway Gardens.

Callaway Gardens is an outdoor gardens complex in Pine Mountain, Georgia, that aims to preserve the natural wildlife and native fauna. Me and my family went for an all day field trip there a few weeks ago.

When we first got there, we used our Stone Mountain Park passes to get in for free. Then we went to the overlook before we realized that it was the wrong way to get to the discovery center and the butterfly house. So we then turned around and went to the Discovery Center.

In the discovery center, we learned about the history of the Callaway family, who started the park in 1952. Cason J. Callaway and his wife Virginia Hand Callaway combined their love of horticulture and wildlife and banded together to save the dying crop fields.

After we left the discovery center, we rode around trying to find the butterfly building, but kept passing this log cabin, so we decided to go to that. We discovered that 15 people lived in the 2 room log cabin!

We then left the log cabin and went to the butterfly building, where they house tropical butterflies from overseas. The conservatory was truly beautiful, and in my opinion, the best part of the whole thing.

When we got done at the butterfly house, we were going to go to the beach, but just as we got down on the shore, the lifeguards got everyone out of the water and off the sand. So, we decided to hang out at the beach for the next 3 hours, but the storm never left. It was actually quite pleasant.

Well, that’s all I have for today, Sparkles. Thanks for reading, and Sparkles away!
