Father’s Day – Loving my Dad
Hey Sparkles! Happy Friday! This weekend is Father’s Day, so in celebration of that, I thought I’d write about things you can do with your father that he might appreciate.
The first thing I know my dad would want to do is swim in my grandparents’ pool. He is very good at swimming and can beat me in races on lap swimming, but not in treading water competitions. I win out because of my uber strong will. Probably, we will be going down to my grandparents’ house and swimming this weekend. I say probably because I am writing this three weeks ahead of time.
Another thing we like about going to my grandparents’ house is my dad gets to spend time with his dad. Since Daddy is the only child of my grandparents, we get to go to our grandparents’ house a lot. Going to Mono and Pawpaw’s house is fun!
My dad also likes to work in the kitchen and make yummy food. We are going to look in my recipe book, and find something yummy to make in celebration of Father’s Day. My favorite recipe from my kid-friendly allergy-free cookbook is Gloria’s Glorious Trifle.
For his father’s day gift, my sisters and I make him homemade crafts and cards and serve him breakfast in bed. My dad likes it when we make him homemade gifts because it shows we put thought and effort into preparing things for him.
I have made several t-shirts celebrating my dad. My personal favorite is “Dadliest Man Alive.” I have also made “The Best Dad – No Joke” and “Some people don’t believe in heroes, but they haven’t met my dad,” which is available with the words in white and black.
Well, I think that’s all for today, Sparkles. I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and that you’ll go check out some of the shirts and books I have on Amazon. Thanks for reading, and Sparkles away!
