First Easter Sunday
Hey Sparkles! Happy Monday! For today’s Monday Moment post, I am writing about the first Easter Sunday ever, 1,988 years ago today.
Easter Sunday is always observed on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. It celebrates the coming of Spring and new life. However, the most important thing Easter celebrates is the resurrection of Jesus Christ after he was crucified by the Romans and buried in a tomb for three days.
Of course, we don’t actually know if this is the first time Easter was celebrated, but calendar-maker Dionysius Exiguus says it was. Easter this year is on April 21, 2019.
What are your traditions for Easter? Please tell me in the comments below. Just remember, that whatever else you do, stop and think about how much God loves you by sending his son, Jesus, to die for your sins.
Also, shout out to my #1 Sparkle and oldest little sister, Gloria Peavey. She is 11 years old today. I love her so much and think she is awesome! Happy Birthday, Gloria, if you are reading this! Here‘s a little something for you.
Well, that’s all for today, Sparkles! Thanks for reading, and Sparkles away!
