Mara, Daughter of the Nile Book Review
What’s up Sparkles, I read a new book. Now I am going to give you a book review. The name of the book is Mara, Daughter of the Nile. It was so good, I read it three times… in a row! I absolutely loved Mara, Daughter of the Nile.
Good things within book review
The author of the book, Eloise Jarvis McGraw, is a very good author. She has another book called The Golden Goblet, which is an awesome book about a slave boy in ancient Egypt who lives with his evil half-brother Gebu. This book has great female strongpoints in Mara. That is why I am leaving this good book review.
Bad things within book review
Now, I must tell you that this book is a love story. Because of this, I would not recommend for children 10 and under to read Mara, Daughter of the Nile. Mara gets whipped very often, as she is a slave.
Mara, Daughter of the Nile is set in Ancient Egypt, during the reign of Pharaoh Hatshepsut. It may be too intense for some, but I would recommend this to middle and high schoolers, the girls especially. Mara is a girl, so girls naturally like this book. Boys don’t like this book as much.
