PEMDAS song to remember the order of operations

Hey Sparkles! I made up a song to remember the order of operations! You know the shortcut is PEMDAS: Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction.

The song I made up is called “Algebra’s Possible.” It is to the tune of “It’s Possible” from Seussical.

Here are the PEMDAS song lyrics:

When solving some hard equations in math, with multiple symbols like add and subtract, you may be wondering, “Which do I do first?” I’ll tell you in a sec, but some encouragement first: It’s Possible, Algebra’s Possible!

First, is parentheses, then exponents, then you multiply, and then you divide, and then you add and then you subtract. It’s as easy as that; remember with PEMDAS: It’s Possible, Algebra’s Possible!

I hope you remember the words of my song and use it to help you when those problems come along. When you use PEMDAS, remember this song, and here’s the encouragement one last time: It’s Possible, Algebra’s Possible!

Me singing the song:
