Summer Swimming Fun

Hey Sparkles! Happy Friday! For today’s Family Friday blog post, I am writing about my family’s swimming fun this summer.

Swimming is one of the most popular activities of the summer, and my family is no exception. Every summer, five out of six (the ones who are old enough) get in the pool and swim for two hours every Monday through Thursday morning. When I say swim, I don’t mean splash around, I mean swimming laps, 50s, and 100s, back and forth across the pool with barely enough time to breath in between laps.

There are four strokes used competitively. The first stroke is Freestyle, or the Forward Crawl (Layman’s Term). The second stroke is Backstroke. I am ok at this one, except I am really bad at staying straight. The third stroke is Breaststroke, or the Froggy (Layman’s Term). This is my favorite stroke. The fourth, and, in my opinion, hardest, is Butterfly. My shoulders hurt just thinking about it.

However, even with all the competitive swimming, my family and I still find some time for fun swimming. The chance to just relax and not have to swim laps is not taken lightly in our family, especially after swimming about 4 miles in a week.

Our grandparents have a pool that we like to swim in, and sometimes, we will go to a hotel pool and swim with friends or family. We like these times best.

Well, that’s all for today, Sparkles. I hope you enjoyed this peek into my life for this edition of Family Friday. Be sure to register for Setting the Stage Summer Camp! It’s going to be awesome! You can register at https://form.jotform.com/91054485283157. Thanks for reading, and Sparkles away!
