World’s Fair Opens
Hey Sparkles! Happy Monday! For today’s Monday Moment post, I am writing about the world’s fair, or Exposition Universelle, in Paris opening May 6, 1889, 130 years ago today.
Another word for the world’s fair is Exposition Universelle. The world’s fair of 1889 was a world’s fair held in Paris, France, from May 6 to October 31, 1889. It was held during the year of the 100th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, an event considered symbolic of the beginning of the French Revolution. It was also one of the few world fairs to make a profit. The pictures below are from this event.
Well, that’s all for today, Sparkles. Thanks for reading, and Sparkles away!
